01 — THE HARDWARE
Real hardware. Real capability.
Every cloud begins with a physical foundation. Get to know a versatile enterprise platform for hosting applications, virtual machines, and data-intensive workloads.
PLATFORM SPOTLIGHT
HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10
A versatile, two-socket rack server that combines compute density with room for memory, storage, and expansion.

02 — BEYOND THE PHYSICAL
Your next layer. The cloud.
Build an environment around your workload. Understand how virtual compute, persistent storage, and private networking work together.
01
Cloud compute
Virtual machines provide isolated environments for websites, applications, and development. Match CPU and memory to the task, then adjust as your needs evolve.
VIRTUAL MACHINES / APPLICATIONS02
Cloud storage
Keep application data on persistent volumes and use object storage for files, archives, and assets. A separate backup strategy helps protect against accidental loss.
PERSISTENT DATA / BACKUPS03
Cloud networking
Connect workloads through private networks, control inbound traffic with firewall rules, and distribute application requests with load balancing.
PRIVATE NETWORKS / TRAFFIC CONTROL
An overview of cloud architecture. Resources and service features depend on the deployed environment.
03 — BUILT WITH INTENT
The right foundation for every layer.
Infrastructure works best when its parts are planned together. Start with the application, then shape the environment around it.
A database, a public website, and a development environment each have different resource and isolation needs.
02
Plan beyond compute
Consider storage performance, network access, backups, and recovery alongside processor and memory requirements.
03
Leave room to evolve
Keep capacity and architecture adaptable as usage grows and applications change.
INFRASTRUCTURE, EXPLAINED
A little clarity goes a long way.
Dedicated server or cloud virtual machine?
A dedicated server assigns a physical machine to a workload or organization. A cloud virtual machine divides the resources of a host into isolated environments. Dedicated servers suit hardware control and sustained workloads; virtual machines offer more granular allocation.
What does a 2U server mean?
A rack unit is 1.75 inches high. A 2U server occupies two rack units, or 3.5 inches of rack height. This form factor balances compute, storage, and expansion capacity.
How does a private cloud use physical servers?
A virtualization platform pools server resources into virtual machines and networks. A private cloud adds orchestration and access controls around infrastructure dedicated to one organization.
Are snapshots the same as backups?
Snapshots capture a point in time and can help with short-term recovery. Independent backups, retention policies, and tested restore procedures offer broader protection when a host or storage system fails.
